My hope is that the readership of this journal is doing well and enjoying the spring season. As we continue to serve our clients, patients, and athletes, learn from our faculty, or teach our students, ACSM's Health & Fitness Journal? (HFJ) strives to continue to be a high-quality resource for all of you! I am excited to share a few journal updates with you as well as the content of this issue.

I am pleased to announce that the journal's leadership team is meeting quarterly to ensure that there is clear communication across all aspects of the journal to increase productivity, growth, and reach of our content. The leadership team consists of Managing Editor Lori Tish, B.A.; both Associate Editors-in-Chief A'Naja Newsome, Ph.D., ACSM-CEP, EIM, and Peter Ronai, M.S., FACSM, FCEPA, ACSM-CEP, ACSM-EP, EIM; Digital Content Editor Kristin Jett, B.S., ACSM-EP; and Consulting Editor Brad Roy, Ph.D., FACSM. It has been an excellent experience working with both the leadership team and our associate editors who make up the journal's editorial board.

Our associate editors also are responsible for writing the journal columns that are published at different times of the year among our six issues. The columns allow for evidence-based information that can provide “how to" instruction on different testing or programming techniques, introduce emerging topics in our field, or provide updates on business management, certification, nutrition, or workplace wellness. Recently, I also have leveraged columns to provide additional information at a more detailed level that could not be achieved due to length limitation on our featured articles. As an example of this, please read this issue's Health& Fitness from A to Z column that will expand on the #1 International Fitness Trends for 2025 (1), which is wearable technology. Additionally, I will pair columns with featured articles in future issues that complement one another and afford the reader a multi-perspective on the same topic. For a full list of our columns, when they are published, and their intended learning objectives, we have created the following link for our readership: (https://acsm.org/education-resources/journals/health-fitness-journal/). I would like to thank Lori Tish for her assistance in helping me develop the resource guide for our columns.

Also included in this issue are three excellent featured articles. All exercise professionals need to be aware of the communities they serve and understand the diversity of the clients they serve. Lead author Kaitlyn T. Adams, M.Ed., and their team help to discuss the importance of assessing cardiorespiratory fitness among a diverse population of community members and provide information on how to maintain rapport with the communities we work with. Do you need a refresher on blood lactate? Brian C. Rider, Ph.D., FACSM, and associates, provide an excellent overview of lactate metabolism, how it effects the body during and after exercise, and how information about lactate production and clearance can be used to assist clients with training.

To follow up on the artificial intelligence (AI) feature (2) published in the March–April issue, Sandra Kamel, B.S., will discuss whether ChatGPT should be used by exercise professionals and if this AI-generated information aligns with ACSM guidelines or not!

On a final note, congratulations to the 2025 Certified Professional of the Year! We thank Michael Stack, B.S., ACSM-EP, EIM, ACSM-PAPHS, and the remaining finalists for their contributions to the health and fitness industry. Please enjoy this issue and as a reminder, all suggestions and ideas are welcome. Please email me at the address listed below.

Yours in health,
