Built in 1946, this largest hospital in Shenzhen originated from Bao'an County People's Hospital and has developed into a modern comprehensive hospital combining medical services, teaching, scientific research and health care. It is the largest 3A-rated hospital (the highest ranking in hospital classification by the Ministry of Health) in Shenzhen and features complete functions, advanced equipment, rational talent structure and strong technical power. In 2018, the hospital for the first time became the only hospital in Shenzhen that made it onto the list of the top 100 hospitals in China.

Established in 1979, Shenzhen Second People's Hospital is now a modern comprehensive 3A-rated hospital providing clinical services, disease prevention and rehabilitation services as well as serving as a teaching and research base. In the past five years, the hospital has conducted 670 national and provincial scientific research projects. It has the first postdoctoral research station among Shenzhen hospitals.

Peking University Shenzhen Hospital 北京大學(xué)深圳醫(yī)院
This modern, comprehensive 3A-rated hospital was built by the Shenzhen Municipal Government in cooperation with Peking University with an investment of 450 million yuan. It has become one of the most influential medical institutions in the city, featuring complete functions, advanced equipment, rational talent structure and strong technical power. In 2016, the hospital won the Construction of Smart Hospital Award. In 2017, it was selected as one of the smart hospitals in Guangdong Province.

Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital 深圳市中醫(yī)院
A large, comprehensive hospital for traditional Chinese medicine built in 1975, the hospital provides medical services, disease prevention, health-care and medical rehabilitation services as well as serving as a teaching and scientific research center. It is a 3A-rated hospital for traditional Chinese medicine. The construction of its new hospital in Guangming New Area started in November 2017.

Shenzhen Maternity & Child Health-care Hospital 深圳市婦幼保健院
Founded in 1979, it is a 3A maternal and child health-care institution that integrates medical care, health care, prevention and scientific research. Covering a total area of 35,000 square meters, the hospital has 600 beds. The hospital has two sites.

Established in 1983, it's a second-grade class-A hospital directly affiliated to the Public Hospital Administration of Shenzhen Municipality. The hospital is famous for its glaucoma department, eye surgery department and TCM ophthalmology department. In total, it has 11 departments including surface disease, cataract, fundus, vitreoretinal, strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology, optometry, and ophthalmologic eye tumor departments.

Fuwai Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Shenzhen 中國(guó)醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)院阜外醫(yī)院深圳醫(yī)院
The hospital is the only public cardiovascular hospital in Shenzhen. It was founded in the mid-1980s, under the initiative of Dr. Sun Suifang, granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen. It was officially opened on November 12, 1992 at 1021 Dongmen Road North, Luohu District, Shenzhen. Covering an area of 7,000 square meters and a floor area of 9,000 square meters, it has 100 beds with annual outpatient visits reaching 180,000.
The hospital opened a new clinic at 12 Langshan Road, Nanshan District in 2017 to meet with the citizens' increasing demand. Covering an area of 22,458.16 square meters, the hospital has 13 inpatient wards (including ICU, CCU), a health management center, an emergency department, and a special diagnosis and medical technology department.

Shenzhen Children's Hospital 深圳市兒童醫(yī)院
The hospital is a comprehensive hospital for children, integrating medical treatment, health care, scientific research and teaching under the direct leadership of the Shenzhen Public Hospital Management Center. It serves newborns and children of Shenzhen and its surrounding areas. The hospital was opened in November 1997 and lies to the south of Lianhua Hill Park in the downtown area of Shenzhen. The inpatient building, which was put into use in 2013, covers an area of 103,000 square meters. The hospital has 1,300 beds, 10 medical wards, 10 surgical wards, ENT, pediatric oncology, infection, Children's traditional Chinese medicine wards and children's special needs wards, with a total floor area of nearly 170,000 square meters.

In 2017, the hospital became a comprehensive 3A-rated hospital in the country.
